Berlin Baithak proudly presents: 'Die Heldin' by Sruthi Gopal and Dancers from Berlin! 

In Bharatanatyam, the concept of the Nayika or "heroine" is a powerful figure embodying the many facets of femininity—strength, vulnerability, love, and resilience. 'Die Heldin' takes this ancient portrayal and brings it into the present, exploring the inner world of the modern woman through the rich language of classical dance. From moments of profound grace to fierce determination, this performance celebrates the heroine in all of us. We are thrilled to have Sruthi Gopal, who has been not only a performer but also a mentor and guiding force to our dancers. Her presence and artistry have enriched our community, and we can't wait for you to witness her magic on stage!

EXPLORE combines interactive online sessions with a one day offline workshop for advanced/professional Classical Indian Dancers.

Embark on a creative journey with Shruti Gopal as she shares her years of experience exploring the nuances of abhinaya, the expressive storytelling aspect of Indian classical dance. In this exclusive workshop series, Shruti leads participants through an immersive exploration of abhinaya, delving into its vast potential to communicate emotion, narrative, and deeper meaning through movement and expression.

Shruti’s self-developed course focuses on honing this aspect of dance, making it relevant in today’s performances, where both traditional and contemporary contexts can meet. This series is designed especially for advanced students and performing artists seeking to expand their expressive range and connect more deeply with their audiences.

This class is open to advanced students and artists of any classical form. No specific experience in Odissi is needed—just bring your passion and a willingness to explore something new.
